William P. Taylor William P. Taylor, 96, Retired Air Force Lt. Colonel, went home to be with his savior Jesus Christ, and joined his wife of 58 years, Lillian Lavonne Taylor and his son-in-law, Manny Silva on December 6, 2017. Bill was born in Portsmouth, NH to Florence May Howell and William Lewis Taylor on October 14, 1921. When he graduated from high school he joined the U.S. Army Air Corps. After basic training, he became a bombardier Radar navigator and flew three B-17 combat missions over Europe. During his 30-year career in the Air Force, Bill fought in the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and flew in the Strategic Air Command (SAC), before retiring to Arroyo Grande for 48 years. Bill graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA and majored in Accounting. He was a life long member of the Elks Lodge and American Legion. He was also an active member of the Arroyo Grande Methodist Church since 1972. Bill loved his family above all else, but loved to bowl, play handball, camping, the San Diego Padres and reunions with his military buddies. Love of family, God, and country were his greatest passions. Bill is survived by his three daughters: Nancy Silva, Emmy Davies and Pattie Taylor; his grandchildren: Manny Silva III, Kelly Petri, Azariah Owens, Gabriel Owens and Heather Silva; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grand- children; and one brother, Fred Taylor, his wife Marilyn and family. A Viewing will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 pm, Sunday, December 17, 2017, at Marshall-Spoo Sunset Funeral Chapel, 1239 Longbranch in Grover Beach, Calif. Bill's Celebration of Life will start at 11:00 am, Monday, December 18th at the Marshall-Spoo Sunset Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at the Arroyo Grande Cemetery, with a reception to follow at the Elks Lodge, 410 Air Park Street in Oceano, Calif. from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bill's favorite charity, "Wounded Warriors." A donation in remembrance of and in honor of service for, Lt. Col. Wm. P.
