Welcome to the memorial page for

Shannon Kathleen Warner

March 28, 1952 ~ October 13, 2017 (age 65) 65 Years Old

Shannon Kathleen Boyd Warner was born in Fresno CA 3/28/52 to Rosalie May and Kenneth Joseph Boyd. She was the middle child of five, eldest being Bob (wife Hope), Bill, younger being Kim (deceased) and Les.

Shannon and her siblings represent the family’s 4th generation in California, started as 1850 pioneers. The Georgetown area was the initial family settlement, including the Wilton (namesake for the town of Wilton), Smith and Boyd families.

The family relocated to the Sacramento are, where Shannon attended Grant Union High School (“go Pacers”), a 1970 graduate.  While attending Sac State University, Shannon began her career working at the State of California, where she spent 38 before retiring in 2010.

In 1975, while working her side job at Stop & Go in Sacramento, a customer approached Shannon’s cash register…three months later Rick and Shannon were married, a union that would last 41 years.   Their firstborn, Rich (“Ricky”), was born in 1977.  Their second son, Randy, was born three years later, in 1980. Rick and Shannon raised the boys in the Sacramento/Carmichael area until relocating to the central California town of Santa Maria in 1988 (for Rick’s job).

The Warner family returned to Sacramento in 1992, and remained there until Rick and Shannon retired in Shell Beach in 2011.

Shannon and Rick love their 5 grandkids:   Nathan and Tyler (Ricky’s);   Lily Warner (Randy’s), and Avery and Austin Brooks.

In 1976 the Warners started attending Warehouse Ministries church in Sacramento.  The ability for Rick to wear shorts to church was a selling point.  When news came that Jeff and Sharon Miles would be starting Touchstone Christian Fellowship, Rick and Shannon were among the founding members.  Upon retiring in Shell Beach, Oak Park Christian Church became Rick and Shannon’s place of worship.

When recently asked by a close friend what the highlights of Shannon’s life have been, she quickly responded as follows.  Accepting Jesus Christ as her Savior in 1964 (at age 12).  Being married to Rick (her rock), a man of integrity, kindness, and the ability to love everyone he comes across.  Shannon could not say enough about the love she has for each one of her family members.   Her years at Touchstone Christian Fellowship, which exponentially grew her walk the Lord, and her fellowship with other believers .

Shannon will be missed by those whose lives were touched by her selfless desire to nurture and encourage in anyway she could.  With particular emphasis on her love for children, which was greatly heightened when she participated in 2 mission trips to Kenya.  She spoke of how much SHE received on these mission trips, far greater of a blessing than what she provided.
