As many of you know, our "Daddy Bill", Winston Skinner, passed away August 20, 2020. He was born in Burma where his parents were missionaries. As an infant he sailed to the US with his mother and siblings aboard the SS President Cleveland, landing in Seattle in 1929. They then settled in the Los Angeles area. He married and had two sons, Bradford and Glenn. Sadly, Glenn passed away in October 2014. Winston "Bill" had two grandchildren, Brad Jr. and Loren (LJ), and two great grandchildren, AJ and Isla.
Winston worked at Hughes Aircraft in Southern California as a designer of rocket gyros. His designs were used in the NASA Gemini Space control capsules and other spacecraft for stability and direction.
He met our mother, Shirley Kinney, through pinochle and poker groups. He came into our lives 13 years ago when they fell in love and were inseparable from then on. He quickly became a part of our family and we loved his sense of humor, kindness and caring ways. He was a true gentleman. We miss him deeply and he will always be in our hearts and memories. Here are some pictures of our lives together.
