Wallace "Wally" Cox Obituary

   Wallace "Wally" Lloyd Cox was born March 4 1929 at family home in Raisin City, Ca. to Fred and Angie Cox where he joined brother Hiram and sister Barbara.

   Wally attended Raisin City Elementary School and Caruthers High School. It was during these high school years that he developed a love formotorcycles and Harleys became his passion. After graduation Wally enlisted in the US Navy even riding his Harley to San Diego where he served asa fireman on the Navy tender USS Jason.Upon discharge from the Navy, Wally returned to the family farm in Raisin City, marrying, and having a daughter.

His love of motorcycles was always present and he was a lifetime member of the American Motorcycle Association racing flat track and hill climbs winning a few trophies.Wally helped for years on farm eventually going to work for the State of California division of Highways or Cal Trans in Bakersfield, New Cuyama, and finally Santa Maria.Retirement from Cal Trans gave him the time to start his adventure as an avocado grower in Arroyo Grande.During his life in Arroyo Grande Wally was an active parishoner and volunteer for St Patrick's Catholic Church, ICF #291 and the Knights of Columbus.

   Wally joined his heavenly family on Sunday November 27, 2022 at his home with his daughter and son-in-law.He was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Angie Cox, his brother Hiram Cox, his sister Barbara Senter, and nephew Paul Senter.Wally also survived 2 wives Udella M. Cox 1973 and Othel Lee Cox 2009.Wally is survived by his daughter Kandie (Cox) Sampson and son-in-law Bill Sampson, 2 grandsons Paul (Manette) Shaver of Arroyo Grande,Robert (Melissa) Shaver of Santa Maria,5 great grand children and one great great grandson. Also surviving are step children Doug (Kathy) Brown of Atascadero, Joan Ogilvie of Carson City, Nevada plus their children and grandchildren.
