Robert Wood Obituary

On Sunday, October 25, 2020, Robert (Bob) Wood, loving husband and father of two children, passed away at the age of 71.

 

Bob was born on January 23, 1949 in Bakersfield, CA to Henry and Barbara Wood.  He attended Lakeview school until moving to the Central Coast in 1963 where he attended and graduated from Arroyo Grande High School.  He received his degree in Engineering Technology from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo in 1972.

 

On May 8, 1976, he married Janet Anne Loy.  They raised two children, Tim and Kristy.

 

Bob owned and operated Wood’s TV in Arroyo Grande from 1972-1979 and then started B&W Management with his childhood friend, Tim Banducci.

 

Bob was an advocate of youth sports as a Little League coach as well as officiating High School Baseball & Football games.  His interests included golf, poker, sports, camping, boating and anything with his family and friends.

 

Bob was known for his selfless act’s kindness, quiet sense of humor and a compassionate heart to everyone he met.

 

Bob was preceded in death by father, Henry, his mother, Barbara, his brother, Roger Wood and his sister, Lois Wood Moore.

 

Bob will be lovingly remembered forever by Janet, Son Tim, Daughter & Son in Law Kristy & Kyle Huerth, his beloved grandchildren Leo & Olivia Huerth and "Big Sister"  Brenda Retzloff

 

The family would like thank the following for assisting them during Bob's cancer journey: Dr. Erick  Hjortsvang at PCR Oncology, Compass Health, Wilshire Hospice and Arroyo Grande Hospital.

 

In lieu of flowers please donate to St. Patrick's Catholic Church Outreach Program in Arroyo Grande, CA.  There will not be services at this time due to the pandemic.
