Robert Ray Kohler
Robert Ray Kohler April 23, 1928 - December 17, 2019 Robert Ray Kohler (Bob) was born on April 23, 1928 to Wanda Samborski and John C. Rogers in Chicago, Illinois (Cook County). He married his childhood sweetheart and neighbor, Charlene Josephine Mojzis on January 6, 1951, and within a year, became the World’s GREATEST Dad. He would go on to father nine additional children, who would provide him with over a hundred grandchildren and great grandchildren. He often stated that he did not invest in real estate; he invested in livestock. He was a tool and die maker and inventor by trade. He held many jobs, starting out as a shoeshine boy for the Chicago MOB. He worked for many government contractors including General Dynamics and Pratt and Whitney. He worked on the Saturn Missile while living in Florida, and knew pretty much everything about everything. He built numerous houses. He designed and built homes at Loon Lake in Illinois; a home in Stuart, Florida (and built the Blue Marlin Motel as well - with the help of Charlene and his Brother Paul). He built a home on Corinthian Way in Pomona, California, and then a home at 570 Crestmont Drive in San Luis Obispo, California. His skills and talents were endless. Robert could fix anything; even things that were not broken! Robert was a devoted husband, loving father and a caring grandfather and great-grandfather and cherished every moment spent with his family. Robert’s greatest joys were studying God’s word, talking about his interpretation of the scriptures, fixing stuff and spending time with and providing for his family. His fondest memories were of praising and worshiping Jesus at family get-togethers and spending time at Charlene’s Memorial Garden. He spent his last days maintaining the properties and was not afraid to take risks. Numerous family members preceded him in death including his wife, Charlene, and daughter Theresa. Robert is survived by nine children (Bobby, Billy, Marie, Louise, Elena, Joseph, Gregory, Annette and Christopher) and infinite grandchildren and great grandchildren. His legacy will live on forever into eternity. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
