Richard DeBlauw 1/19/1940 - 11/15/2021
Richard was born Jan. 19, 1940 in Redlands, California. As one of eight siblings, he spent his childhood working with family on a chicken ranch and in the orange groves.
He graduated from Redlands High School and entered the Forest Service where he fought several large forest fires.
He later started working for a construction company, then later at California Water and Telephone as a draftsman in the Engineering Department.
As his family grew, he went back into remodeling and construction in Los Angeles. Janie was his first child, then twins Dale and Duane were born.
He decided to move to Arroyo Grande in 1968 to work in construction with his brother Bill until later when each started his own separate construction company.
Richard's hobbies were traveling in his RV, riding motorcycles, and enjoying the outdoors. With his wife Carolyn, he is responsible for the construction of approximately 250 homes in the Arroyo Grande area as well as several commercial buildings and apartment complexes. He even built the Frontier Motel in San Luis Obispo in the early '70s. He worked in Arroyo Grande in construction until his retirement when his sons took over the business.
He honored the Lord with his profits and gains. He found joy in helping and giving to others.
