Our beloved husband and daddy, Reggie Mendoza (38 years old), went home to rest with the Lord on Friday Sept. 9th, 2022. Reggie was born in Manila, Philippines and immigrated to the United States 17 years ago. He finally rejoiced when he received his U.S. Citizenship on August 23rd, 2022.
Reggie graduated from the University of the Philippines, Los Banos, with a bachelors in Information Technology. As he immigrated to the United States he used his knowledge, willingness to help others, and love of "fixing things" to work for Ramar Foods in Pittsburg, CA. before finally joining the Lucia Mar Unified School District where he worked for nearly a decade prior to his passing. He loved being an IT Specialist and working closely with his colleagues each day at the district office.
Reggie loved to dance and sing all kinds of music, particularly sea shanties. He would dream about owning his own sailboat and sailing off to discover new places with his family. He enjoyed relaxing and playing video games with his wife (especially Guild Wars 2 where they met nearly 10 years ago). He loved snuggling up with his family for movie time, and drinking coffee and tea at "tea time" after work. He was happiest with his family at his favorite spot, Avila Harbor, and always loved being out on the water with the wind and waves. At heart, Reggie loved Archie comic books, all things Marvel and DC Universe, card games, and taking care of animals around his home on the Mesa. His favorite thing in the world was to love, nurture, and spend time with his family. Reggie was proud of his Filipino culture and heritage and celebrated it regularly by speaking both Tagalog and English at home.
Reggie is preceded in death by his father, Rolando Mendoza, and grandparents Lolo Ben and Lola Brighida. He is survived by his wife, Lisa Mendoza, daughter Chloe Mendoza, mother, Edith Mendoza, Brothers Ron Mendoza and Rolando Jr. Mendoza, and sister Diane Mendoza.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held in his honor at the Marshall-Spoo Sunset Funeral Home in Grover Beach, CA. on Saturday September 24th, 2022 at 11 AM.
