Obituary – Peggy Colene Ramke
Peggy Colene Ramke (Simmons), was born on June 23, 1938, in Wewoka, Oklahoma, and passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at 6:45 p.m. on January 8, 2026, at the age of 87.
Peggy lived in Arroyo Grande, California for 52 years. She was born in Wewoka, Oklahoma and relocated to Visalia, California at an early age where she attended various schools and graduated from Tulare Union High School. She met her beloved husband, Dennis Ramke, in 1953, they married on December 3, 1955, and celebrated 61 wonderful years of marriage together.
Peggy was a homemaker and worked side by side with her husband to build a yard maintenance business in 1983 until they semi-retired in 1992. Peggy enjoyed crafting and spent countless hours creating unique items which she shared with family and friends, or donated for use in craft fairs to support the California Grandmothers Club Park in Arroyo Grande, CA.
She is survived by her daughters: Colene Tarbell of Elderwood, CA; Christine Lossing and husband Marc Lossing of Arroyo Grande, CA, and Marlene Weeks and husband Matthew of Arroyo Grande, CA. Grandchildren: Justin Tarbell and wife Janette of Canyon Lake, Texas; Tamara Tarbell-Lea of Elderwood, CA; Lucas Weeks of Arroyo Grande, CA; Daniel Weeks and wife Melanie of Arroyo Grande, CA. Great Grandchildren: Jacob Tarbell, Jennifer Wendt, and Jonathan Tarbell; Cash and Saige Lea; Harley Weeks; Devon and Everett Weeks; brother Robert Simmons of Finley, Nevada.
Marshall-Spoo Sunset Funeral Chapel is coordinating the graveside services that will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. and officiated by John Rodgers of Elderwood, CA, with music accompaniment by Tammy Rodgers of Elderwood, CA.
The family would like to make a special acknowledgement and thank you to San Luis Obispo Oncology & Hematology Health Center who cared for Peggy throughout her battle with lung cancer, and to Central Coast Home Health and Hospice who tenderly provided care for her and her family during her last days.
