Pauline Castillo Obituary

Pauline V. Castillo, born 1924 in Texas, was gathered into the arms of angels and taken Home February 19th 2024. She was many things to many people; sister to 8 siblings, wife to one man, mom to 2 children, grandma to 3 and great grandma to 6 aka “Grannie.” She was married to Raul for 53 years. After his passing, she dedicated much of her time to working in her church. She was active in many of its programs and inner workings. She was a frequent liturgist, reading scripture in the sanctuary. She drew her strength from her faith. Always a hard worker, she gave her all to whatever endeavor she undertook. As a volunteer, she did much to enrich her community, working at the voting polls, gathering data for the Census, and interpreting for monolingual Spanish speakers. She also provided transportation for her peers that could no longer drive and fed the homeless. She said doing for and with others gave her life meaning. She certainly paved her road to the pearly gates with gold. She led a long and happy life. Mom, we thank you for what you did for us. You were loved by many and taught us all that there is nothing more important than to love and be loved. You taught us what being rich was really about. Gracias, mama.
