Paul Keller Wineberg

Paul was born June 23, 1955. He grew up in Southern California and attended the University of California, Santa Barbara.  After his graduation he began his career working as a special education teacher at both the high school and elementary levels.

He was a dedicated teacher and took pride in helping his students reach their potential for more than 30 years. For a time, Paul enjoyed helping coach youth football and basketball teams. Above all, Paul was a kind man with a big heart, who deeply loved and selflessly supported his loved ones. He was caring, and exceedingly easy to talk to. 

Paul was married to his wife, Linda, for 44 years. He had two children, Jenny and Jeff, and was ecstatic to be a grandfather to his three grandchildren, Asa, Ellis and Josie. Although Paul was relatively new to the grandfather game, he took to it like a duck to water and was adored by his grandchildren.

Paul had the great fortune and joy of traveling extensively, and as an ardent music lover, he attended countless concerts and music festivals with his friends. Paul was also a hugely passionate audiophile, meticulously crafting the ultimate home audio setup over the course of many years, and countless hours of research. He was always in search of the “perfect sound”.

Finally, Paul had a great love for the outdoors; he especially loved camping with friends and family in Big Sur or the Redwoods, as well as kayaking all around the Central Coast. One of his greatest passions was going to our National Parks to enjoy the beauty of nature. 

In so many ways, Paul made the most out of life and packed an incredible amount of experiences and joy into his time with us. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, neighbors, and those who otherwise got to know him. Donations can be made to honor Paul to the National Park Foundation.
