Nancy was born in San Jose, California on August 26, 1949. Her brother and sister were much older and her birth was a blessed surprise to her parents, Hilda and Adolph Sievert. She was a bit of a tomboy and grew up riding horses and helping out on the family’s cattle ranch.
She attended grade school and high school in San Jose and attended Santa Clara University (SCU). She graduated in 1971 with a degree in History. At SCU she met Charlie Felix, a Mathematics major from Honolulu, Hawaii. They married in 1972 and moved to Honolulu where they lived for about a year before returning to the San Francisco bay area. Nancy realized that, while she really loved history, it was not a very marketable skill. So she went back to school and earned a second degree in Accounting and eventually became the Accounting Manager for the one of the largest credit unions in Silicon Valley.
When Nancy and Charlie retired, they moved to San Luis Obispo County where they pursued their love for international travel. Nancy visited 99 different countries (many of them more than once). She also became interested in genealogical research and, in order to understand original forms and documentation, taught herself to read Portuguese, German and Latin.
Most of all, Nancy loved learning new things and meeting new friends.
