It is with a heavy heart that we share the news that Michael David Jones, 69, passed away in Nipomo, California on the afternoon of March 18th, 2026.
Michael was born in Covington, Kentucky on July 28th, 1956, and his life touched many in meaningful ways.
He was a respected framing contractor on the Central Coast of California and had called thearea home since 1981. Michael was deeply loved by his family and friends, and his loss leaves a profound void. Many knew him affectionately as Mike or Bub.
Michael is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 49 years, Jeannine Jones; his daughter Jessica Durkee (and her husband Foster) of Arroyo Grande; his son Matthew of Nipomo; and his three cherished grandchildren, Rebecca Jones, Tyler, and Joshua Durkee, all of Arroyo Grande.
He is also survived by his three brothers and their wives: Terry and Karen Jones of Hawaii,
Timothy and Cynthia Jones of Paso Robles, California, Brian and Rafaela Jones of Atascadero,
California; his mother-in-law Shirley Goss of Riverside, California; and many nieces and
nephews. Michael was preceded in death by his father Denny Jones, Jr., his mother Joyce Jones
Chrisman, his brother-in-law Roy Goss, and his father-in-law Bill Goss.
We warmly invite you to join us in celebrating Michael’s life on Saturday, May 30th, 2026, from
1-4 pm at the Woman’s Club of Arroyo Grande, located at 211 Vernon Street, Arroyo Grande,
California. We will gather to share a barbecue lunch featuring some of Mike’s favorite foods,
starting at 1 pm. Following lunch, his grandson Josh will present a slideshow reflecting on
Mike’s life, and his brother Terry will share heartfelt memories. The family welcomes you to
share your own stories and reflections, as these moments of connection bring comfort during
this difficult time. If you are able, please kindly RSVP to his daughter Jessica at 805-276-6739 so
we can make sure there is enough food for everyone.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate a tree be planted in Mike's honor.
