Marilyn Gracia Whisler, 71
Marilyn (Gracia) Whisler, 71, of Grover Beach, passed away on June 7,2021, surrounded by her family.
Marilyn Whisler was born on March 31,1950 in Santa Maria to Nat and Theresa (Quaresma) Gracia.
She graduated from Arroyo Grande High School in 1968. She attended college at Allan Hancock College, where she received her Licensed Vocational Nurse certification.
In 1972, she met Mike Whisler and the two were inseparable from that point on. Marilyn and Mike were married for over 48 years. Mike was the love and joy of Marilyn’s life. Marilyn had 2 children: Michelle Rinck and Marybeth Dean.
Marilyn was a fiercely dedicated mom to both of her children, raising them to go on to accomplish great things. Marilyn always put her family first, and she instilled that value into all those around her. The hole left by her absence is impossible to fill.
She was an active member of the All-Saints Catholic Church, belonging to the Rosary Group. During her time with the group, they made over 100,000 rosaries to be distributed around the world.
In 2016 Marilyn and Mike moved from Missouri back to California to be closer to family. Marilyn enjoyed her time walking on the beach, and spending time with her brothers and sisters.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Nat and Theresa Gracia, and sister, Carol Dodge. She is survived by her husband, Mike Whisler; her two daughters, Michelle and Marybeth (Brandon); grandchildren Travis, Taylor, Joshua, Brian and Noah; her siblings, Jim (Jean), Linda (Warren), Elizabeth (Ross), Susan (Dan), Joe (Karen), Gail (Reine), Dave (Susan), Rosie (Rick), Tony (Sandi) and Andy (Stacy); and numerous nieces and nephews.
