Margaret Melinda Mahan, known lovingly to family and friends as Meg, passed away peacefully at home on April 23, 2024 in San Luis Obispo, CA. Meg was born October 13, 1959 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Roy and Maxine (Edgar) Mahan. Her dad was stationed in Hawaii for the military. Later in life she would call herself an Army Brat as they moved around when she was young. Her family eventually set down roots here in Arroyo Grande after Maxine got remarried to Donald Emerson who served as her father figure growing up. Meg graduated from Arroyo Grande High School and would go on to get married to Dennis White and have 3 children. Meg loved riding horses in her younger days. She worked at Madonna Inn with her mom and the now out of business Foster's Freeze in Downtown SLO, Trader Nick's and Chele's in Pismo Beach. She worked hard to provide for her family. Meg was a rock for her family and friends that loved her dearly. We will all miss her enormously.
Meg is survived by her 3 children, Justin White, Heather White and Jason White & his wife Dee Dee; 4 grandchildren, Serenity White-Ilole, Kanesha White, Kynzi White and Gracie White; a great grandchild, Amare White-Ilole and her long time partner David Urlwin.
