Margaret Miller Obituary

Margaret Ann (Melby) Miller

11/14/47 - 1/23/23

Margaret is survived by her beloved husband, Marvin E. Miller, sister Maureen Loster and her husband Don Loster, brother Mark Melby, daughter Julieanne Page and her husband John Page, daughter Jolene Henry and her husband Steve Henry, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents: Donald and Joyce Melby.

Born and raised in Santa Maria, California, Margaret spent the last fifty five years living on a ranch in Arroyo Grande with her family where she enjoyed gardening and opening up her home to any and all.

Margaret lived a life that was nothing short of inspiring. Due to a car accident in December 1975, she was left confined to a wheelchair and paralyzed from the waist down; however, she persevered and lived a beautiful life for forty-seven more impactful years. Despite her incredible limitations, she lived a selfless life of serving others through teaching Sunday School, leading Bible Studies, being Kids' Ministry Director, doing one-on-one discipleship/mentoring, visiting the elderly in the local convalescent home, volunteering wherever possible in her church and taking meals to those in need. She even went on to achieve a Certificate of Completion from the Center for Biblical Counseling so that she could minister to others through sound and Godly counsel. Through her boldness in Jesus she shared her story with as many people as she could, using opportunities ranging from drivers training classes, to youth groups, and even to strangers passing on the street. Sharing her story ultimately led her to writing and publishing a book depicting her life story and her ability to overcome tragedy through faith in Christ,  "A Pearl - Formed by Adversity" by Margaret Ann Miller (which can be found on Amazon).

She married the love of her life, Marvin Miller, in July of 1977. She loved him well, and he faithfully stood by her side as they navigated life after her accident together. She raised two precious daughters, who later started families of their own. Margaret was an incredibly loving wife, mother, sister, niece, daughter, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who treasured her family more than life itself. Her family feels honored to have known her, and inspired to carry on her legacy.

Prior to her passing, she battled pneumonia for several months. Ultimately due to increasing complications with her paralysis combined with the pneumonia progressing, she passed on to be with her beloved Savior, with family around her. Our comfort is in knowing that Margaret is now healed and whole and walking with Jesus in heaven.
