Lynne Banister Jelderks

Lynne Banister Jelderks passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 28th, 2024, at the home of her daughter, Amber. She had been diagnosed with Glioblastoma brain cancer in late December 2023. She was 77 years old.

Lynne was born in San Diego to James and Helen Banister. She had two brothers, Dennis Banister and Raymond Banister. She is survived by her three daughters: Kira Dobson Dickerson, Tan Del Dobson, and Amber Dobson Gularte; her sons-in-law, Justin Gularte and Troy Dickerson; along with grandchildren Jack Dobson Heath and Pria Dobson Gularte; and her loving partner of 10 years, Sam Argentieri.

As a young girl, Lynne was obsessed with her horse, Boots. She lived an idyllic SoCal life, driving her red Chevy convertible to the beach, attending The Bishops School in La Jolla, and then majoring in art history at Colorado Women's College, where she met her first husband, Edward Dobson. She moved to San Luis Obispo in 1978, where she married Dr. Marshall Jelderks, and together they raised racing Quarter horses. In addition to being a beloved mother and horsewoman, she excelled at selling art in various galleries on the Central Coast. While volunteering at Arroyo Grande Community Hospital, she met and fell in love with Sam Argentieri, who encouraged her to join him as a courier driver for Dignity Health. She enjoyed this job passionately as it allowed her to travel all over the county and form relationships with medical office staff and lab technicians. She was happiest while on the road.

Lynne was beloved by all who knew her for her generous, selfless spirit and beautiful clear blue eyes. She will be dearly missed.

Service: Wednesday, June 12th, at 11:00 am at the United Methodist Church of Arroyo Grande, with a reception to follow.
