Lori Jean Angello
July 20, 1954 ~ January 16, 2024 (age 69) 69 Years Old
Lori was born on July 20, 1954, in Glendale CA. to James and Patricia Phipps and passed away Tuesday January 16, 2024, in San Luis Obispo. Lori was a resident of the community for the majority of her life but spent her last years in Nipomo. She graduated from Arroyo Grande High School in 1972. In 1973, she married David Carl Angello and raised two sons David Carl Angello II and Craig Allen Angello. Lori and David opened Angello’s TV in Grover Beach and operated the business for many years. In 1998 Lori and David’s love for the beach and dunes, led them to open Angello’s ATV on Pier Ave which Lori closed in 2017, to spend her last few years in retirement. Lori was a devoted member to the community which was shown through her involvement in many committees such as a member of Oceano Improvement Associate, Board member of The Boys and Girls Club of South San Luis Obispo County, Board member of Oceano/ Halcyon Advisory Council, board member of the Oceano Community Service District and an avid supporter of the Oceano Depot project. Over the course of her life Lori enjoyed hosting parties with David at their home and were well known for the elaborate Super Bowl barbecues. Lori also enjoyed gardening, crafting, crocheting, and building wood projects with her brother Clay. Lori loved the time she spent with all the grandchildren watching them swim and teaching them lifelong skills like sewing. She also became interested and enjoyed food prepping for the end of the world and watching Fox news. With newfound interests Lori began exploring the family’s history, and spending countless house with lifelong friends, especially going to steak dinners.
Lori is proceeded in death by her parents James and Patricia Phipps and her husband David Carl Angello. Lori is survived by her son David II and his daughter, Dalaini and her mother, Lindsi Timmermans; son Craig (Hilary) and children, Conner, Davin, Luca, and Kathleen; sister Dawn Ferrini (Dan), brother Clay Phipps (Trish) and brother James Burford; cousins, nieces, and nephews; many close friends; and lifelong friends. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday January 31, 2024, at Marshall-Spoo Sunset Funeral Chapel, 1239 Longbranch Ave. Grover Beach, with burial at Arroyo Grande District Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Portuguese Hall of Arroyo Grande, 707 Huasna Rd, Arroyo Grande.
