Leandra Nicole Funkhouser

Leandra Nicole (Newby) Funkhouser 39 of Santa Maria, California passed away on July 12, 2021.

Leandra (Annie) was born on February 22, 1982, to Shannon andYvonia Newby in Santa Maria, CA.  After graduating from Delta High school in 1999, she continued her education, earning an Associates in Science degree for Paralegal Studies from Allan Hancock College.  Leandra’s professional passion for law and photography was as strong as her passion for life and family.

Leandra had a bubbly personality and was a committed mother and enjoyed being a 4-H and Band Mom and loved all activities with her children, especially new adventures in outdoor activities like camping, hiking, biking, swimming, rollerblading, and long walks on the beach with her beloved beagle named Abby.  Leandra also enjoyed painting, butterflies, and hummingbirds.

Leandra is survived by her brother Cort Newby his wife and their family, her father Shannon, mother Yvonia, and Grandfather Darvel Newby in Florida.

Leandra leaves behind three sons - Zachery Williams, Chase Funkhouser, Cody Funkhouser, former husband Mark Funkhouser, numerous aunts and uncles, cousins and many nieces and nephews.

Leandra (Annie) lit up every room she entered, she was a precious gift and we will miss her but also find comfort in knowing she is now in our Savior’s arms, making Heaven just a little brighter.

There will be a Celebration of Life service for Leandra on:

For any family and friends who would like to join the family there will be a reception Immediately following the service at the home of Cort and Lucy Newby at 1547 Heatherwood Lane, Orcutt, California 93455

If anyone would like to contribute a food dish or dessert, it can be dropped off at the reception home on the morning of the service or bring it with to the reception.
