Judy Ramos Obituary

Judy Ann was born October 8, 1948, in Phoenix, AZ, to Bishop George Dewey Foster and Thelma Mae [Lane] Foster. Judy had an 8-year older brother, Dewey Lynn, who was her forever best friend.

Judy’s father was the Church of God of Prophecy State Overseer in Arizona and Nevada, and because of his knack to take struggling churches and return them to prosperity, he was reassigned to a variety of churches and regions in California. While at Kerman, Judy [13] met [and fell in love with] Mike Ramos [16]. After Mike gave Judy her one and only hickey, Judy’s father demanded Judy break up with Mike and never see him again. Obeying her father, the two went their separate ways.

In 1966 Judy married B Thomas Bogenholm. The marriage wasn’t meant to be, yet she did have her life’s pride and joy, her son Dewey Thomas Bogenholm. After one other failed marriage, Judy gave up on having a relationship, and remained single for many years.

Judy worked family entertainment centers for 30+ years, ending her career in El Cajon as an Events Coordinator Manager. She loved working with people, and she was much loved by the many she came in contact with.

In the interim, Mike was married almost 45 years when his wife died. About 2-years after, Judy found Facebook and was told she could find people from her past. She soon found Mike, and they reconnected in 2011. They married in 2014, and enjoyed over 11 years of wedded bliss.

Judy passed away July 5, 2025, joining her father, mother, and brother, who preceded her. Judy is survived by her husband Mike, her son Dewey (Samantha); stepchildren James (April) Terry, Kerry (Michael) Stream, and Michael (Linda) Ramos; and adoptive daughter Lorrie Haynes. She also leaves behind, 6-grandchildren, and 19-great grandchildren.

Immediate family have already gathered for a private service, and no other services will be held. Judy was laid to rest in the Arroyo Grande Cemetery.

Judy had many friends and family she loved nationwide. Being a practitioner of extending her love to others, feel free to extend your love to others in her memory. Judy and God would love you for it.

Being reverent in her faith, Judy knew she was leaving many loved ones behind, yet she was ready to meet her maker. Heaven has benefited from our loss.
