After attending Cuesta Junior College for a short period of time, Jose enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served in the military for over 23 years in various capacities, traveling the world and serving his country. He retired as a decorated Senior Master Sergeant. Unable to sit still for long, he re-established a career in Civil Service at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon for 15 years before finally retiring to enjoy many rounds of golf with friends, car shows galore, days at Disneyland, nights at Bingo, trips to the casinos, and travels with his camper trailer in tow! An avid Dodgers and Lakers fan and former athlete, Jose remained active and always had a youthful spirit, enjoying adventures with friends, his children and grandchildren. He lived a good life, a life on his terms!
Jose will be interred with his parents at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.
Honorary Gift
Our family has received requests to honor our father through monetary donations to a specific organization. We have decided to establish a scholarship fund that will be awarded to a student at Arroyo Grande High School. Details of this endeavor are to be determined but we commit to following through with this process and using any donations in this way. If you would like to make a monetary gift to honor him please contact Jennifer Tajon at jtajon@gmail.com.
