Jerry Stephen Kennedy
February 20, 1953 – April 7, 2021
Jerry Stephen Kennedy, age 68 of Santa Maria, passed away on April 7, 2021 after a courageous battle
with cancer. Jerry was born in Denver, Colorado on February 20, 1953 to Robert and Leona (Holdgrafer) Kennedy.
Jerry moved with his family to Melbourne, Florida where he attended local schools. While growing up, Jerry’s favorite pastimes were surfing, music, photography, and playing the guitar all of which he continued to enjoy throughout his life.
Jerry’s early adult years were spent working in construction. Later he worked for Parisian Bread Company as a route deliveryman and also for ITT Defense Company at Vandenberg AFB. Jerry’s final career leading to retirement was with Combat Support Associates, as a civilian contractor for the US Military. Jerry worked for CSA as a Visual Support Operations Manager, in Kuwait from 1994-2011.
Jerry most treasured his relationships. He very much enjoyed the gatherings of family and friends to partake in a good old fashioned backyard barbecue as well as playing his guitar and attending live music events. Jerry loved all animals and especially those two special dogs, Ellie and Gunner. Jerry was an avid reader and read daily.
Jerry is survived by his daughter, Monica (William) Kughn, and grandson, Will Kughn. Jerry is survived by brother Michael (Ginger) Kennedy, three sisters, Kathy (Robert) Bodycote, Karen (Andy) Cassell and Becky (Ray) Barnett, and several nieces and nephews. Jerry was predeceased by his
parents, Robert and Leona, sister Mary, and twin brother Terry.
Funeral arrangements are provided by Marshall Spoo Sunset Funeral Chapel, 1239 Longbranch Ave.,
On Friday, April 23, a viewing will be held from1:30-2:30pm followed by a graveside service at 3:00pm at the Arroyo Grande Cemetery.
