Passed away from a long battle with dementia, aged 79. Jack Kean was born in Canton, Ohio and moved to Pomona, CA as a young boy. After graduating from High School, Jack and his wife Joan married and later moved to Grover City, CA in 1974 where they raised a family, and he lived the remainder of his life. He was the owner of Kean Union 76 Gas and Service Station in Grover Beach, CA. He was an active member in the Five-Cities Jaycees, Arroyo Grande Lions Club, City Council, and held the title of Grover City Mayor from 1980-1989. Jack is preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Joan Elaine Kean, who passed in 2001. He is survived by his three daughters and their husbands: Terri and Greg Thuente, Jenny and Rich Abenido, Cathe and Rob Lincoln; and his five grandchildren: Cali and Sydni Abenido, Beverly and Charles Lincoln, Grant Thuente.
