Guilio Paul (“Julius”) Santa Maria passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at the age of 93. He was born the youngest of twelve children Aug 29, 1930 to Philomena and Anthony Santa Maria in Elizabeth, NJ. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy, seeing combat in the Korean War. He moved to Riverside, CA in the early 1950s, starting a family with his wife Bernice. A Master Tool and Die Maker by trade, he worked at Bourns Inc. before going into business for himself. He also taught mechanical engineering at San Bernardino Valley college. He started the next chapter of his life with his second wife, Myrtis (“Boots”) in Nipomo, CA, finally moving to Barefoot Bay, FL for retirement. Always active in his community, he was a board member of the Association of Minemen (AOM), a member of the Knights of Columbus, the local VFW, the Italian American Club and many, many other organizations. He loved fishing, crabbing and socializing with friends. He was the company’s parliamentarian for Wood Millwork Specialties, Inc, located in Albuquerque NM until the time of his death. He leaves four generations of children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren. He was greatly loved, and he will be sorely missed.
