GERALD T. KIKUCHI
December 28, 1943 – February 3, 2021
Gerald (Gerry) Kikuchi, 77, of Arroyo Grande, California, passed away on February 3, 2021. He was born on December 28, 1943 in a Japanese Internment Camp in Jerome, Arkansas.
Gerry attended San Luis Obispo High School and graduated in 1961. After high school, he attended the National Automotive School for two years. After completing two years, he went to work for Tyerman’s Wheel Shop and worked there approximately 20 years. He went on to open Video Invasion where he was co-owners with his brother, Ron, from 1982 to 1988. In 1989, he changed career paths and joined the Department of Corrections where he worked as a Correctional Officer until his medical retirement in 2004.
Gerry enjoyed fishing, gambling, gardening, cooking, baking, garage-saling, and most of all spending time with family and friends.
Gerry is survived by his wife of 55 years, Margie, two daughters, Jackie Miller, Jennifer Henry and husband Larry, mother Susy Eto Kikuchi Bauman, brother, Ron Kikuchi, sister Lauren Eto and husband Jim, grandkids Alyssa Cruz and husband Jake, Matthew Crum, Austin Crum, and Bentley Henry, great grandkids Blake, Marissa, Mary Jane and Colton.
Gerry was preceded in death by granddaughter Tiffany Kikuchi.
Visitation will be held on February 13, 2021 from 10:00 am til 1:00 pm at Marshall-Spoo’s Funeral Chapel, 1239 Longbranch Avenue, in Grover Beach.
A memorial service will be held on February 13, 2021 at 3:00 pm at Harvest Church in the Village of Arroyo Grande, 124 West Branch Street, in Arroyo Grande.
