Geoffrey Stephen Schilling
“Turbo”
March 31, 1944 – October 15, 2018
On Friday, October 19th, 2018, Arroyo Grande will say goodbye to one of its finest. Geoffrey Stephen Schilling was born at Sisters Hospital in Santa Maria on March 31, 1944 to parents, Bud and Jayne Schilling of Arroyo Grande. Geoffrey attended Arroyo Grande Elementary School and Arroyo Grande High School where he earned an athletic letter in tennis. Geoffrey worked as a dishwasher at various restaurants in the local area until he settled his career at the Madonna Inn. Known for his hard work and swift hands, Geoffrey earned the nickname “Turbo” among countless friends and associates. Before work, Geoffrey regularly stopped by Mullahey auto dealership to serve up coffee and smiles to the employees and customers. If you didn’t already know, you soon found out that Geoffrey could talk about sports until the cows came home. He was always dressed head-to-toe in his favorite teams and he knew all the stats. Geoffrey had one very special love in his life next to sports and that was his mother. He spent 74 years by her side and he took excellent care of her. Geoffrey was preceded in death by his father, Bud Schilling, and his brother, Mike Schilling. He is survived by his beautiful mother, Jayne Schilling, dozens of cousins and countless friends. If Geoffrey were given one last chance to speak, he would surely say “I love you, Mom…and GO DODGERS!”
