Florence Aldine (Ormonde) Terry
Florence Terry, née Ormonde, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 26th after a brief battle with cancer. She was 96 years old.
Florence was born on May 21, 1925, in Arroyo Grande, California to Frank and Marie Ormonde, the third of 8 children. She married her life partner, Henry J. Terry, on June 8th, 1946 and they raised their four children in the Oak Park Canyon home he built for them.
Florence was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, a lifelong Catholic, and an avid gardener who enjoyed canning and baking with the vegetables and fruits she grew.
Florence was predeceased by her husband on March 25, 2005. She is survived and will be dearly missed by her four children, Kay (Art), Mike (Sue), Nancy (Jim), and Jack (Carol), 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass for Florence will be held on Tuesday, June 1st at 10am at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Pismo Beach. A graveside service will immediately follow at Arroyo Grande Cemetery. A celebration of Florence’s life will be held separately later this summer.
