Erineo (Eddie) Madrid passed away on Friday, May 2nd surrounded by family and love. Eddie was a long time resident of Grover Beach and the Central Coast. He is survived by his wife of 39 years Karen, three children, Amber, Summer and Eddie, daughter in law Amber and three grandchildren, Zylah, Elias and Poppy. He is also survived by his mother Bea, sister Abby, brother Ronnie, and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Jesus and brother Frank.
Eddie worked for the City of AG in the Public Works department for 36 years before retiring. In that time he made many friends and enjoyed mentoring the summer high school crews, which is where he got his start. He met his wife Karen at 22 and never looked back. Three kids later he was busy with basketball, softball, dance and karate. He never once complained about spending a weekend busy with family or friends.
Big Ed didn’t just get his name because of his size. He loved big, laughed big and the biggest hugs. Don't let his dark sunglasses and mean mug scare you, he was a giant teddy bear and loved to chat about everything from cars to Hallmark Christmas movies. His grand babies were the highlight of his life and getting to be a Pop was what he loved most. He loved them more than life itself.
Eddie will be greatly missed by all who know him. Thanks for the good times Ed.
