Donald Sparks Obituary

In Loving Memory of Donald Arthur Sparks

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald Arthur Sparks, who left this world on December 25, 2023, in Arroyo Grande, California. Donald was born on July 2, 1949, in Inglewood, California, to his loving parents, Warren and Shirley Sparks, both of whom he joins in eternal rest.

Donald's life was a testament to the enduring power of love, commitment, and family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Connie, who stood by his side through thick and thin, sharing in the joys and challenges of a life well-lived. Donald leaves behind a legacy of love and strength that will forever resonate within the hearts of those who knew him.

Donald's journey in love and life began when he met his soulmate, Connie, while attending CalPoly in San Luis Obispo. Their love story blossomed on the scenic campus, and together, they forged a lifetime of shared dreams, challenges, and unwavering support for one another.

A dedicated and loving father, Donald is survived by his four children, Bryan (Celeste), Tonya, Tracy, and Brenda (John). His love extended far beyond his immediate family to encompass a beautiful tapestry of 14 grandchildren. Bryan and Celeste brought Olivia, Hailey, Mason, and Evelyn into the world. Tonya with her loving children Cohen and Claire, while Tracy was blessed with Trent, Jason, Lillianna, and Sophia. Brenda and John, Willow, Jane, Emerson, and JohnKyro, complete the circle of love and laughter that surrounded Donald.

Donald's enduring bonds also include his surviving brothers Bill, Jim, and Twin Brother Dave, who shared in his joys, sorrows, and the camaraderie of a lifetime of memories. The annual fishing trip to Bridgeport, enjoyed by brothers, nephews, and their families, became a cherished tradition. Donald and his extended family reveled in the beauty of nature and the camaraderie that only shared adventures could bring.

In addition to his love for fishing, Donald was passionate about farming. For over 40 years, he dedicated himself to the weekly farmers market, where he shared the fruits of his labor with the community. His commitment to the land and his green thumb were evident in the bountiful produce he offered, fostering a sense of community that went beyond transactions.

As we mourn the loss of Donald Arthur Sparks, let us remember him not with sadness but with gratitude for the love he shared, the wisdom he imparted, and the indelible mark he left on our hearts. May he find eternal peace, reunited with his parents, and may his family find solace in the memories that will forever bind them together.
