Daniel David Steil

Arroyo Grande, California - Daniel David Steil was born in San Luis Obispo on November 15, 1986. Our beloved son passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on December 27, 2023. He was thirty-seven years old.

Daniel was a loving, thoughtful, and compassionate person. He attended Arroyo Grande High School and never had a shortage of friends who enjoyed his company. As a child, Daniel played numerous sports and excelled at baseball and soccer. Daniel was an avid San Francisco 49ers fan and was blessed to have traveled extensively around the United States, visiting most every state along the way. Daniel’s greatest joy came from spending time with those he loved. 

He especially loved being a father and spending time with his son, Preston, who he loved dearly. There are so many wonderful things that come to mind when describing Daniel, including his incredible ability to have fun, his natural ability to brighten up a room, his generous spirit, and his bountiful heart.

Though he left us before he could fully realize his dreams, we will always remember Daniel’s passion for life and unwavering love for his friends and family.

Our loss is great, and Daniel will be deeply missed by his entire family: his parents, Amy and Tom Rosa; his son, Preston; his brother, Joey; his sister, Melissa; his many nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles, their spouses and extended families.

He is preceded in death by his father, David Steil, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

A public memorial service will be held for Daniel on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Calvary Chapel, 1133 Maple St, Arroyo Grande, CA. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Chapel.
