Christopher Karl Hartwig

Christopher Karl Hartwig, born June 20, 1967 in Brunswick, Georgia to Marvin Karl and Barbara Hartwig, peacefully passed from death to eternal life into Heaven with his Beloved Savior. He left us from his home in Arroyo Grande, CA  on Monday, May 10, 2021. He was 53 years of age.

From the young age of 12, Chris gave his heart to the Lord. He lived his life to please Jesus and to let everyone know about Him. His compassion led him to weep for the salvation of others and to let his light shine in word and deed. Though born mentally challenged, he used his limited talents for God and let his light shine brightly. He expressed his love and appreciation of all of us close to him and always had a smile and a cheerful attitude in spite of his extremely limited physical abilities for the last 6 years of his life.

Grandson of long-time Arroyo Grande residents, Helen and Marvin Hartwig, Chris is survived by his parents, Karl and Barbara, his sister Bari, and several aunts, uncles, and two generations of cousins. He also was blessed to have had extended spiritual family from lifetime relationships with the Patrick Sparrow family that began in 1980 at Agape Church in San Luis Obispo, CA. He attended Central Coast Christian Academy (now Coastal Christian), Los Ranchos Elementary, and finished his high school years at Lighthouse Christian School. He was a member of Equippers Church in Arroyo Grande, along with his immediate family.
