Billy Ray Roberts was born May 13, 1933 in Russelville, Arkansas and passed away September 17, 2020. In Santa Paula , California.
Billy Ray Roberts, 87 of Grover Beach California went to be with The Lord on September 17, 2020.
He was born May 13, 1933 in Russelville Arkansas, to the late Luke Roberts and Elsie Parrish Roberts. His family moved to California when he was 15 years old. Billy graduated from Delano High School in Delano, California in 1952.
Billy worked as a farm hand before enlisting in the United States Army in 1953. He served in Germany during the Korean War where he learned to be a vehicle mechanic.
Bill worked as a truck driver and an auto mechanic before retiring in the coastal community of Grover Beach. He enjoyed golfing, working on computers and CB radios. He also had a love for country music and often spoke of playing the guitar and fiddle when he was growing up.
Bill was also preceded in death by his brothers and sisters. Viola Christine Roberts, Moria Lorene Roberts, Hazel Marie Roberts, Garland Henry Roberts, Alma Lucille Roberts, Ruth Kathleen Roberts and Roger Dale Roberts.
Billy survived by his children and step children. Michael Roberts, Sonja Roberts , Karen Roberts, Christina Hendley , Tony Hendley, Maria Hendley and Damon Hendley. He also had many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Billy’s service was held at Bakersfield National Cemetery in Arvin, California on September 30, 2020 at 10:00 am. The service was arranged by Marshall-Spoo Sunset Funeral Chapel, of Grover Beach California. His service will be officiated by his step son Pastor Tony Hendley of Porterville, California. He will be laid to rest at. Bakersfield National Cemetery Arvin, California.
