We regretfully announce the passing of Beau David Pryor, 50, of Arroyo Grande, California. Beau was born on May 28, 1970 to Robert Pryor and Teri Lynn Hardy in Atascadero, California and went home to be with his Lord on April 21, 2021.
Beau is known as a man of faith who loves the Lord and his family, especially “his girls” Shawn, Alexis and Kaitlyn. He would often talk about his “God Winks” and knew God was guiding him every step of the way.
After graduating high school Beau enjoyed a 28-year career with the Arroyo Grande Police Department beginning in 1994 and retired in 2020 at the rank of Chief of Police. After retirement Beau’s motto was “Every day is a Saturday”. Beau enjoyed motorcycle riding, mountain bike riding, surfing, camping and woodworking as well as hanging out with the family.
Beau met the love of his life, Shawn, in 1994, began dating in 1996 and were married in 1997 and share two beautiful daughters together Alexis (20) and Kaitlyn (16).
Beau will be forever loved and forever remembered.

Beau is survived by his wife Shawn Pryor and their two daughters Alexis (20) and Kaitlyn (16). As well as, his grandmother Carol Pryor of Atascadero; his mother Teri Lynn Hardy (Bob) of Atascadero, CA; grandfather Bob Brown of Atascadero, CA; sister Tiffany Pryor of Atascadero CA; stepsister Traci Gomez (Tony) of Lakewood, CA; stepbrother Rob (Janell) of San Clemente, CA; father-in-law Bruce Ward (Diane) of Arroyo Grande, CA; mother-in-law Chris Kemppainen of Nevada; sister-in-law Laurie Rojas (Rick) of Nipomo, CA; brother-in-law Matthew Kilmartin of Oregon and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Beau is preceded in death by his father Robert (Bobby) Lee Pryor III, grandfather Robert (Bob) Lee Pryor II, grandfather Daniel Fruchtman “Dan Frank” and Grandma Francis Sue Brown.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Friday, May 7, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the Portuguese Hall, 707 Huasna Avenue, Arroyo Grande, CA.
