Ariel Jean Waterman (Carol), loving wife and devoted mother, passed away Tuesday, January 13.
Ariel lived in Arroyo Grande, California with her husband, Ian and their son, Sam, as well as their beloved dog, Princess. Ariel was the daughter of Donna Marie Corea.
Very impressively, Ariel earned her PhD in Art History from the University of Southern California. Her knowledge made her an incredible asset to the History Museum in San Luis Obispo where she served as a museum guide. She loved interacting with guests, especially children. Museum leadership said “she was such a warm and generous person with her time and energy. Truly an amazing woman who was always there when you needed her.”
Her family was the center of her universe, and she dedicated her life to ensuring their happiness and wellbeing. She always managed to keep everything organized and running smoothly. She always put her family before her own self. Her love for her family knew no bounds, and she went to great lengths to make sure they felt her love every day. She was a devoted wife, always supportive of her husband, and a proud mother who cherished every moment spent with her son.
Ariel was a warm and loving person with a generous heart. She volunteered for the city, and for a veteran’s organization. She loved being a part of the community. Others said she was a kind person, funny and witty, and very knowledgeable. Every one who knew her loved her.
Sam said “she always taught me how to be a gentleman and how to be the man I am. She taught me what it truly means to care for people, and the true definition of a generous person.”
Ariel will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and care that will continue to inspire others for years to come. May she rest in peace, knowing that she made a profound impact on the lives of those she touched.
In addition to her mother, Donna Marie Corea, Ariel is survived by her brothers Mike (Wendy), and John (Gaye), a sister Michele (Tim), and by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
We love you to the moon and back!
