In Loving Memory of Anne Stephanie McCracken
February 26, 1946 – July 24, 2025
Anne passed away peacefully on July 24, 2025, in Arroyo Grande at the age of 79. She was a fiercely loving Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Cousin, and Friend. She always had time for one more hug.
Anne was born and raised in San Francisco until her family relocated to Fresno. She graduated from Roosevelt High School, where she excelled in Drama, Chorus and was a member of the cheerleading squad. Anne continued her education at Fresno City College, majoring in Music.
Anne took pride in her professional work as a Lucia Mar School bus driver, becoming a state-certified driver trainer. She later joined the real estate profession, discovering a passion for helping seniors find affordable homes.
As a long-time resident and active member of the Arroyo Grande community, Anne dedicated much of her time to service and took great pleasure in serving on the Harvest Festival and Christmas Parade committees. She was also a long-standing member of the Kiwanis Club of Arroyo Grande Valley, where she formed lasting friendships. She further enjoyed volunteering for the annual Cops 4 Kids event as a member of the International Footprint Association. During the years that Anne was in remission from breast cancer, she devoted herself to related causes, including the Relay for Life and the Look Good Feel Better Program, which helps restore confidence and self-esteem to people receiving cancer treatment.
In her later years, she elevated her advocacy of Seniors by serving as a Senior Senate Member with the California Senior Legislature and as the District 4 representative on the San Luis Obispo County Commission on Aging.
Anne will be remembered for her fun-loving spirit, silly sensen of humor, warmth, her loving heart, and her deep devotion to her family and community. She is survived by her husband, David McCracken; her children, Chenoah Steil (Scott), Kristin Peck-Plitt (Don), and Don Fink III (Jessica); as well as grandchildren Matthew, Britney, Jessica, and Preston.
A celebration of life will be held on August 13th at 2:00 pm at Marshall Spoo Sunset Funeral Chapel, 1239 Longbranch Ave, Grover Beach, California. To honor the color that Anne brought to our lives, attendees are invited to wear whatever brings them joy.
