Fusa Yamaguchi, 83, of Arroyo Grande, passed away Monday, April 9, 2018.
She was born in Gilroy, Ca., on March 1, 1935. After being interned at the Poston Arizona Internment Camp, Fusa graduated from Arroyo Grande High School. After finishing beauty college, she went on to work at Lockheed-Martin at V.A.F.B. for 39 years.
Fusa enjoyed bowling, tennis, traveling, gardening, working with crafts, and was a longtime active member at Christ United Methodist Church in Santa Maria. Fusa always wanted to help others. She loved teaching Sunday School and volunteering at the Oceano Senior Center.
She is survived by her brothers, Shig Yamaguchi (Setsu), George Yamaguchi (Miya), and Jim Yamaguchi (Carole); brother-in-law, Ben Dohi; sister-in-law, Diane Yamaguchi; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Fusa was preceded in death by her sisters, Toshiye Matsumoto (Toshimitsu), Louise Elliston (Chester), and Ty Dohi; and brother, Larry Yamaguchi.
Visitation will be held on Sat., April 21, from 11-12, with the service following at 12 noon, at Marshall-Spoo Sunset Funeral Chapel in Grover Beach.
