Fred Anthony Lauriente passed away Feb. 27, 2018 with his family at his side. He was born July 2, 1940 in Chicago, IL to Ferdinando & Yolanda Lauriente. The family later moved to California where Fred graduated from Loyola Marymount University in 1963 with a BS degree in engineering, followed by completion of a MS degree in electrical engineering at UCLA in 1965. Fred enjoyed a successful career at several aerospace companies including Hughes Aircraft, Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and the Department of Defense. He finished off his career as a civilian contractor for the US Navy after many years of contributions to our Nation's defensive capabilities.

Fred spent many years involved with the Boy Scouts, and was always present to watch his children and grandchildren compete in sports. He was especially fond of hiking, backpacking and cycling in California’s Eastern Sierras.
Fred is survived by his wife of 46 years, Joan; children Angela (Shadd) English; Giancarlo (Irma) Lauriente; and grandchildren Lindsay, Lauryn, Marco & Mateo. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made in his memory to St. Patrick's Catholic Church or a charity of your choice.
A funeral mass will be held March 13 at 11am at St. Patrick’s Church in Arroyo Grande
