Surrounded by his loving family, Eugene "Tito" Gaxiola Jr. went to be with the Lord on November 23, 2019, after a yearlong battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born in Santa Maria, CA in a house on McCoy Lane and raised in Nipomo, CA, he was a native to the Central Coast. He met his high school sweetheart in 1957 and she would later become his wife of 58 years.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille, his son, Stan Gaxiola; daughter, Dana Caywood and husband John. Grandchildren, Luke Caywood and fiancé Kisa, Noah Caywood and wife April, Sara Santos and husband Jacob. Great-grandchildren, Reese, Hunter, Harlyn, Sophie, Olivia, and Rey.
Tito enjoyed every opportunity to smile and tell a joke. He was a positive person and would extend a helping hand to anyone in need. Tito will be missed by all who knew him.
Tito was a hard worker. He worked for 33 years in the Laborers Union, and then another 13 years at the Cold Canyon Landfill.
When Tito was not working, he was hunting with his grandsons, drinking coffee at McDonalds with his buddies, or watching the Dodgers at home with his wife.
A celebration of life will be held for him at his church, Lifepoint, 207 Pilgrim Way in Arroyo Grande, CA on Sunday December 8, 2019 at 3:00pm.
