Donald Weaver Obituary

Don Weaver passed peacefully into the awaiting arms of his Heavenly Father on Feb.25,2018 , just shy of his 90th birthday in Oceano, with his family by his side.

Born in Watsonville, Ca in 1928, he grew up in the San Joaquin Valley, graduating from Dos Palos High School, before serving in the Army in Frankfort, Germany during the Korean War.

He met his wife during high school and she traveled by train to Ft. Benning, Ga. where they married in 1951. They just celebrated 67 years of marriage. They have resided in Oceano the past 40 years.

He was an amazing encyclopedia of everything from A-Z, an honorable man of great integrity. You name it, he could do it ! He started with a fleet of combines & farm work at the beginning of their marriage and moved on to airplanes at General Dynamics Convair. He then transferred to GD Astronautics and missiles. When SLC6 shut down at VAFB, he went to Columbia Records. He was the maintenance mechanic on all the line equipment. He then taught metal shop at the FPI, FCI in Lompoc before going to General Motors in Southgate and then retiring from Disneyland.

He was actively involved in his Church, Central Coast Baptist in Grover Beach . He was a member of the Arroyo Grande Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star, Santa Barbara Scottish Rite and Shriners.

He is survived by his wife Beverly Weaver; his daughter, Donna (David) Shaffer: grandson Robert (Maria) Jones: great granddaughters, Kayla, Karly and Zia along with numerous cousins ,nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son William (Bill)

A celebration of life will be held Tues Mar 13th at 2 pm at the Central Coast Baptist Church in Grover Beach.

 Arrangements are under the direction of Marshall-Spoo Sunset Chapel. Burial will take place at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery for veterans, in Santa Nella, Ca.
